Kidepo Valley National Park is in the Karamoja region of Uganda that experiences a semi-arid climate with temperatures reaching 40°C/104°F with average temperatures 29°C/84°F at midday and 17°C/63°F at night.
The park covers an area of 1442 sq. Km. with rugged landscapes with dotted thickets and savannah the park has Narus and Kidepo rivers running through it providing water that supports the aquatic life like the pygmy crocodile relatively smaller than their cousin the Nile crocodile and the park also has geological features like the Kanangarok hot spring north of the park.
