Uganda is a rich birding destination in Africa with over 1010 species recorded and most of these bird species only survive only in the tropical forests and some of the places you can spot these birds in Uganda are Bwindi impenetrable national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Lake Mburo national park, Kibale national park, Murchison falls national park, Ziwa Rhino sanctuary among others.
The shoebill is one of the most sought birds by birders in Uganda and Africa .the shoebill is a slow bird by nature compared to other birds with a whale head and is common in marshy areas with dense vegetation with fresh water.
The African Green Broadbill.
Sometimes known as the Grauer’s Broadbill is one of the sought after birds by birders in the world. The only challenge is the are hard to find. These birds are very common in the Rift Valley in the Albertine.
