This 5 Days Gorilla tracking tour takes you to Lake Mburo National park and Queen Elizabeth National park and Bwindi Impenetrable forest National park the tour will give you an opportunity to see the endangered mountain Gorillas, Tree climbing lions, have boat cruises and a chance to see over 70 mammal species and over 500 birds species in all these national parks.
Lake Mburo National park is the smallest national park in Uganda with variety mosaic habitats like savannah, rich acacia tree valleys, forest galleries, seasonal and permanent swamps which are habitats of various animals and birds.
The park has dry hillside, bushes, rocky outcrops, thicket, forests lakes, open wooded savannah, and swamps that is conducive for various crops to grow giving it a lot of biodiversity and the park has 68 mammals species like zebras, buffaloes, Impalas, Rothschild giraffes, elands and Topis and the park also has herbivorous animals like the leopards one of the most sought after cats, hyenas and jackals.
Mburo national park has 315 bird species making the park one of the great birding destinations in Uganda like the Shoebill stork, white winged warbler, African fin foot, Papyrus yellow warbler, saddle billed stork, carruther’s cisticola, brown chested wattled plover and great snipe abyssinian ground hornbill among other Species.
The Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the most popular travel destination in Uganda the park is rich in biodiversity and the national park has many different types of vegetation like humid forests, Savannah with beautiful lakes and the park is rich in the big 4 game out of the big five like lions, leopard, Elephant and the cape buffalo the park also has 10 primate Species that can be tracked in various places and over 600 bird species that find the national parks different habitats favorable to live in and some of the notable species you can find are ; shoe bill stork, Kingfisher ,range of raptors falcons , eagles and flamingos.
Among the major attractions you will see in the national park are tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, the Katwe explosion crater, the boat rides on Kazinga an opportunity to see Hippo with the biggest populations of hippos in the world, olive baboons, Cape Buffalo, hyenas, jackal, Nile crocodiles and 60 bird species. The boat rides will give you to see Uganda Kobs, herds of African elephant, , leopard , water bucks, tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector , the vervet monkeys.
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
After breakfast, we begin our journey and we drive to western Uganda through masaka we stop in Kayabwe at the equator to take pictures, buy souvenir you will get a chance to experiment on the a tropical balance, you will observe the drum makers do their act.
You will enjoy the view of Uganda’s rural life, observe the landscape and vegetation change as you get to western Uganda as you move closer to the eastern rift valley we later arrive lake Mburo national park and we take a game drive and afternoon boat cruise in the lake giving us a chance to see many animals in the national park and later relax in the lodge.
Day 2: Transfer Mburo national park to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After, breakfast we take a morning drive at the national park and proceed to queen Elizabeth national park arriving later in the afternoon to take a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel an opportunity to see many like herds of elephants, Uganda Kob, hippos, crocodiles and many bird species.
Day 3: Transfer Queen Elizabeth National park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
After breakfast, we take a game drive in search of many animals that we missed the previous day with the aid of a tour guide very knowledgeable of the national park in the Ishasha sector famous for the tree climbing lions returning for lunch before we head to the home of the giant primates the mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking Day | Gorilla Trekking Day.
After breakfast, we assemble at the head quarters of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park for briefing and assignment to the different trekking groups of 8 people per group make sure you are dressed well for the activity make sure you are wearing trousers, trekking boots have packed lunch snack provided by the lodge, measure you have the batteries and extra memory cards for your photography and please follow the gorilla trekking rules that are given to you.
After the gorilla trekking you will have an opportunity to have the Batwa pygmies, cultural experience, have a nature walk and some other activities that can be arranged are birding in the national park the park has over 400 bird species that you can see and take photos of.
Day 5: Drive back to Kampala to your Hotel or evening flight.
After Breakfast, we take a canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi before we drive back to Kampala with an en-route lunch in Mbarara we later stop at the equator to buy souvenir you will carry arriving in Kampala late in the evening.
