5 Days Wildlife and Primates safari. Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo.

 This 5 Days Wildlife and Primates safari is an adventure that takes you to the capital of primates in Uganda national park that has over 13 primates species that you will see on the adventure, Queen Elizabeth national park the national park rich in over 100 mammal species and over 606 birds species and Lake Mburo a small national park that is rich in antelopes species like Elands, Kudus, Uganda Kobs and the Giraffes and Zebras.

This 5 days wildlife and primates safari will get you to see over 13 primates species like the chimpanzees, Baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, the Blue monkey, the L’hoest monkey, red tailed monkey, grey-cheeked Mangabeys among others in Kibale national park, The tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector of queen Elizabeth national park, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalo, Hyenas and more in Queen Elizabeth national park and other Mburo attractions.

This safari will give you an opportunity to have 2 boat rides in Queen Elizabeth national park on Kazinga channel a 40 kilometer strip that joins 2 lakes of George and Edward and the other on Lake Mburo national park.

Itinerary

Day 1Day 1: Transfer to Kibale national park for chimpanzee tracking / Chimpanzee habituation experience

We start our journey early in the morning in Kampala and head to the tourism city of fort portal for our chimpanzee tracking adventure. On arrival we visit the Bigodi swamp to carryout lots of adventures like birding, a swamp walk and a trek of quite of a number of primates in the swamp.

The Bigodi Wetland sanctuary is a great and must visit wetland in the Magombe swamp that is rich in lots of biodiversity like birds, primate, antelopes among others. some of the primate species that you will see on the tour will include the red colobus monkey, baboon, blue monkey grey cheeked, black & white colobus monkey, mangabey, red tailed monkey , vervet monkey, and the L’Hoest monkey and other Mammals that you will see in the swamp include the chimpanzees, bush pigs, otters, Sitatunga, mongooses, bush bucks among others

The Bigodi sanctuary is also rich in many birds’ species that you will see at the sanctuary and the number of bird’s species in the sanctuary is more than 200 species some of them are the Great Blue Turaco, Yellow-spotted Barbet, the White-spotted Flufftail, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Western Nicator, Yellow-billed Barbet, Grey-winged Robin-chat, Brown-backed Scrub-robin, White-tailed Ant-thrush, Black-and-white Shrike-flycatcher, Superb Sunbird, White-breasted Negrofinch Brown-throated Wattle-eye, Brown-crowned Tchagra, Black Bishop, Bocage’s Bush-shrike and Black-crowned Waxbill among others.

Day 2CHIMPANZEE TRACKING AND TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH

After breakfast, we get to the Kibale national park Tourist centre to get briefed to start the chimpanzee tracking adventure that starts at 08.00 lasting 2 to 3 hours in the forest. Some other primates that we see on the day other than the Chimpanzee are the black & white colobus, the grey cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkey among others . The guided tour will get you learning about various plants species that the primates feed on and some of the birds you will see in the forest are the most sought after pittas and many birds species.
Adult male chimpanzees weight is between 35 and 70 kilograms and get to the a height of 3 meters and females weigh between 26 and 50 kilograms with heights between 2 and 4 feet. Chimpanzee’s life expectancy is 40 years whereas but can reach 60 years when living in captivity.
Chimpanzee tracking rules and regulations
• Keep a distance of 8 meters from the chimpanzees.
• People suffering from flue or diarrhea are not allowed in the park.
• Eating near the chimpanzees is not allowed.
• Children below 12 years are not allowed in the park.
• You are to track the chimps under the supervision of the tour guide.
• Keep your camera Flash off when taking the pictures.

After the chimpanzee tracking we transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park for a thrilling wildlife adventures. On entry in the national park we shall be welcomed by lots of wildlife like Elephants, the Uganda Kobs, Elephants and many more animals we check in our lodge and have the over night.

Day 3Queen Elizabeth National park Game drives and boat rides.

After a cup of coffee we take an early morning game drive through the various national parks trails in the queen Elizabeth national park. On this morning we search lots of wildlife like the tree climbing lions, buffalos, elephants, leopards, Cape buffalos, giant forest hogs, Uganda Kobs, bush buck and many more animals in the national park lasting 4 hours we later return to the lodge to relax and take a full breakfast as we wait for the afternoon session.

The afternoon Launch boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel is one that is very fulfilling giving you an opportunity to see the biggest population of hippos in Africa in a given location on the channel. Some of other animals you will see in the channel include the Crocodiles, elephants, buffalos and many more grazing along the 40 kilometers long channel and you will see lots of birds species in the channel we later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4Day 4 LAKE MBURO National park Transfer.

After breakfast, we take another game drive in search of other animals that we missed the previous day as we exit Queen Elizabeth National park and transfer to Lake Mburo national park a park rich in Zebras and many antelope species.
On arrival at Lake Mburo national park we take an afternoon launch boat-cruise to see lots of aquatic life in the national park. We later have an afternoon sun-down game-drive as we end the day.

Day 5visit rwonyo and transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, we take an early morning nature walk in the national park and some of the places we visit is the salt lick where many animals assemble to lick the salt in the Rwonyo Area we later checkout of the lodge and take an enroute game drive as we exit the national park. One of the places we stop is the Equator in Kayabwe to take photos and make some experiments and you will have a chance to see the drum makers do their crafts you will have an opportunity to buy souvenirs to take home.
